Nolasco's Hangar 9 3.1m Sukhoi Build

I've been kinda dinkin' around with my Hangar 9 Sukhoi 3.1M. Man this is one big a$$ plane! Barely fits in my plane room and I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to get it out of the shop when she's all together! Might have to knock some walls down or something...
Anyway, I started out by bolting the gear on. Just so it would roll, I put the (kinda heavy but really nice) stock tires on but I will change those to Du-Bro LW tires. I haven't decided if I will keep the stock carbon tailwheel or get something with better geometry.
After that I installed the rudder, which was one of the, uhhh.....funner(?) things I've had to do.
And there she sat for about 3 weeks

Part of the reason why it sat so long is because it took me some time to decide what I was going to do for components. Like Joe Hunt and Monkey, I quit flying about 8 years ago. Unlike JH I refocused on RC Cars and Trucks. Also during this time I started P1 Hobbies along with my good buddy Blake. So, I wasn't exactly up to date on giant scale airplane stuff anymore.
The plane plan:
(So far)
Jeti DS14
Jeti Control Box 200 Power Management with 2 Jeti R3/RSW RX's
DLE 170 on stock mufflers (I like it LOUD)
Spektrum 6265 Servos
PSP 51oz Fiji Tank
2 Thunder Power 3800 LiPos for RX power
H9 Servo Arms/Titanium Turnbuckles
Secraft Fuel Dot

All this talk of geometry is making my head hurt guys.
If you like it loud, I hope you aren't disappointed. If the mufflers have the Teflon down pipe extensions, it is really quite a bit quieter. Prop rip on the other hand.....

Funny, I have the smaller spitfire that is probably 2/3 framed up. Been that way for 6 or 7 years at least.

Ultimately, it's just not the plane I want. I really want a WWII plane that sits on the gear and has plug-in wings. None of this silly 1 piece wing stuff. I'm thinking some kind of FW190 or perhaps a big Sea Fury. I'd really like a big F2G in Race #57 trim! The Dan Sullivan Memorial event is in June so I gotta get something ready by then. I flew a buddy's Super Stearman this year but I gotta have a giant warbird for next year. I'm thinking of an Aeroworks P-51...

The other one I always liked is the Hawker Typhoon. I think it is the big scoop on the nose, plus you just don't see it much. Sorry to go of, now back to the sukhoi!

Are you planning on doing the Joe Hunt aileron mod?
