Re: Futaba 14SG, moving the trainer switch
Okay, I bought this 14SG from Nolasco. So I called him up today to see if I could change the trainer switch location from the right side of the radio to the left... you know... move the physical switch. Joe (Nolasco) moved my switches on my 14MZ back in the day. Anyway, he says "he's sure they can be moved." He's sooooo suuurrrre. haha So he googles it and, yeah, they can't be moved. haha He does see where one guy un-soldered the switches from their PCB boards and re-soldered them onto the other's PCB board. So, I went about doing that this afternoon:
Here's what it looked like before I started... just getting ready to un-solder one of the switches:
After I had un-soldered each switch from its respective PCB board I soldered the first one onto the other one's PCB board, came out great... except for this one little detail:
Uh, I soldered it onto the wrong side of the board. Doh! I fixed that then soldered the other switch onto the remaining board.
Fired it up and working like a champ.
